WHAT WE DO
Tennis for Life provides complimentary tennis lessons and court time so that breast cancer survivors may experience the benefits that tennis can bring to their lives. Tennis for Life also provides an environment for survivors to share their experiences and feelings in a relaxed social atmosphere end engage in learning activities. We participate in community service initiatives and have guest speakers and activities that provide personal enrichment to members.

Queen or King of the Court
All of the tennis clinics and other activities are free for Tennis for Life (TFL) members. In order to offer the program at no charge, TFL hosts an annual fundraising event called Queen or King of the Court which consists of round robin tennis, raffle items, an on-line auction and lots of fun. For more information about this event, see the Queen or King of the Court page.
To support Tennis for Life, donations are gratefully appreciated.
OUR MISSION
Believing physical mobility and ongoing peer support are essential to the recovery of breast cancer survivors, Tennis for Life provides the resources, opportunity, and motivation for its participants to regain upper-body mobility, develop stamina, and enhance their morale through the sport of tennis.
Tennis for Life (TFL) in North Carolina was founded by Alexis Johnson. After participating in Tennis for Life (TFL) in New Jersey and moving to Wake County, Alexis Johnson wanted North Carolinians to gain from the physical, mental, and emotional benefits of Tennis for Life. Alexis worked tirelessly for two years to get tennis partners and a medical partner before having the first TFL session in the WakeMed Women’s Pavilion in January 2017. Alexis’ passion for tennis and the well-being of breast cancer survivors brings camaraderie and joy to many people.
